Immigrants' Rights
On June 22, 2006, the National Lawyers Guild,
working with many community-based organizations, hosted a "Know Your
Rights" forum at Holy Redeemer in Southwest Detroit. This event
was in response to recent ICE raids. Over 300 community residents attended,
demonstrating the need for increased organization to support immigrants.
Guild Legal Observers were also present at recent historic marches
in the Detroit area.
NLG attorneys are available to speak
in your community about the legal issues faced by immigrants.
Contact us if you would like
to host, organize, or staff such a forum.
