Detroit & Michigan NLG Condemns Retaliation Against Palestinian Liberation Activists and Rashida Tlaib

The Detroit & Michigan Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) stands in full support of Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib for her unwavering dedication to advocating for a ceasefire in Palestine.

Congresswoman Tlaib's commitment to pursuing peace and justice in the region aligns with the NLG’s long standing principles in supporting Palestinian liberation.

As a cherished member of the Detroit & Michigan Chapter of the NLG, Congresswoman Tlaib has consistently demonstrated a commitment to justice, equity, and human rights. Her tireless efforts in calling for an immediate ceasefire reflect a courageous and compassionate stance aimed at alleviating the suffering and turmoil experienced by the Palestinian people, especially the thousands of children killed with US funding and backing.

The NLG condemns any form of retaliation or reprisal against individuals, including Congresswoman Tlaib, who support the call for a ceasefire and the broader pursuit of Palestinian liberation. The repercussions faced by supporters, such as physical violence aimed especially against Muslims, job losses, revoked job offers, and other forms of harmful conduct, are deeply concerning and go against the principles of justice and equity that the NLG upholds.

We firmly stand against any actions that aim to suppress voices advocating for peace, human rights, and the fair treatment of all individuals. Congresswoman Tlaib's dedication to addressing the ongoing crisis in Palestine and her advocacy for a peaceful resolution deserves recognition and support.

It is imperative for all individuals and organizations committed to justice to rally behind efforts promoting a ceasefire in Palestine and advocating for the rights and dignity of all. The NLG is in solidarity with Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and others who champion the cause of peace and justice in Palestine.
